I find myself wondering, almost perplexed,at what is happening in the world. I long to refuse the things of this world, just as Daniel did. I want to be a person of prayer like him, standing firm when confronted with evil.

Yesterday at the gym, while I was on a smart treadmill, I watched scenes of beautiful nature as I ran. Something stirred deep within my heart; it carried me, even if only for a moment, to a place that felt like paradise: peaceful, perfect, untouched. It felt as though I was running through a heavenly garden, where the Spirit gently remained, inviting me to be fully present. At times, I feel the need to empty myself of the world, just as Jeremiah called out people for chasing empty things.

When I have only one word to say, it is this: Jesus.

Sydney is beautiful; especially in autumn. It smiles like a newborn baby, content and at rest after being fed. And yet, aren’t we all weary of this broken world? We make our plans, but the Lord directs our steps.

I wish I had wiser eyes; to truly see with understanding. For none of us are wise on our own. You can travel the entire world, reach every corner of the earth, and still find the same truth: we are sinful and impure before heaven. So often, we seek our own benefit. We chase things that do not truly matter. That is our human condition.

All we truly need to do is this: pause. Breathe deeply. Love ourselves, others, and God; regardless of what is happening around you. Stay focused. We brought nothing into this world, and physically, we will take nothing with us. But spiritually, we can hold on to Christ and carry Him with us.

You are rich. You have enough. You are enough. You are a gift.

Let us sing, as David did in the Psalms:

“My defence is of God, who saves the upright in heart.”

Let the enemy come; our defence is God. Our shelter is in Him. No arrow of the enemy can ultimately harm us in any season of life, my friend.

“My eye wastes away because of grief;
it grows old because of all my enemies.” (Psalm 5:7)

Yet still, God stands for you. He stands with you; in the fire, in affliction, in sickness, and in confusion. We bow my head and close our eyes to begin dreaming, envisioning, loving, and seeking the Lord.

Revive us, Lord. Breathe new life into this world; Your life, Jesus. You have not forgotten us, and You never will. Lift our heads so that we may praise You even in our brokenness. Dwell in our hearts, that we may know Your glory remains among us—now and forever.
