The Great Commission isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a profound invitation to participate in God’s ongoing work.
What Does This Mean for Us?
Jesus gave us this incredible task right before He ascended. It’s found in Matthew 28:19-20, where He tells us, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” This command isn’t just for missionaries overseas. Realise that this means sharing the good news and showing God’s love in our everyday lives, right where we are. It might be through how we conduct ourselves at work, the kindness we offer a neighbour, or simply having a chat about our faith with a mate. We’re called to make a difference, to bring more colour into the world through His light. Each one of us has a unique part to play in this marvellous plan, helping others to realise the hope we have in Jesus.
