There’s a kind of peace available to us that doesn’t make logical sense when life feels upside down. It’s not about everything being perfect or understanding all the reasons why things happen. This peace rises up from somewhere deeper than our circumstances or even our own cleverness. It’s a quiet knowing that things will be alright, even when they very clearly are not.
Peace Beyond Logic
I’ve experienced moments where my brain was scrambling, trying to figure out solutions or make sense of a difficult situation. Yet, underneath all that mental noise, a calm settled in my heart. It’s a feeling that completely defies what my emotions or current reality were screaming at me. This isn’t just wishful thinking; it’s a tangible reassurance.
The Apostle Paul wrote about this in Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” That guarding is so real. It acts like a shield, protecting our inner world from the chaos around us. It lets us breathe when everything else is suffocating.
It’s a gift, this peace, one that we don’t earn but simply receive by trusting in something greater than ourselves. You realise you don’t need to have all the answers to feel profoundly secure.
