God’s goodness in dark times

God's goodness in dark times

God’s goodness doesn’t disappear when our world turns upside down. It often reveals itself in ways we might miss when life is easy. When challenges overwhelm us, it can be hard to realise His presence, yet He is always there.

Finding Light in the Shadows

Even in the deepest valleys, we can experience His kindness. Perhaps it’s the unexpected support from a mate, a quiet moment of peace, or the resilience we didn’t know we possessed. These small flickers remind us of a constant, divine care. As Psalm 23:4 beautifully puts it, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” His promise is a steady anchor.

Sometimes, we need to adjust our perspective to truly perceive His goodness. It’s not about denying the pain, but about choosing to look for the Hand that sustains us through it. C.S. Lewis once wrote, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” This goodness is not just for our comfort but often for our growth, shaping our character and deepening our faith. We are not alone in our struggles.
