Reflections on Life, Faith, and the Need for God’s Presence

Despite all the news from around the world, the sun is still shining, and the moon is still showing up. Moreover, there is a God to comfort us and to celebrate with the winners.

I think I’ve chatted about time in this blog before, but no matter how many times we talk about it, there’s always more to add. Time is like a valuable gem on our life’s plate. It feels like we’re best buddies with time – only God knows when our friendship began and when it will end. We call this stretch of time our journey. It’s a journey full of stories, adventures, and memories, all waiting to be defined by “time.”

Let’s shift gears for a moment. Australia is a stunning country, no doubt about it. However, we’ve recently come to the more realisation that we’re also residing in one of the most expensive cities in the world, Sydney. The cost of renting or buying a house here is a bit of a dream for many people, and it can be quite a challenge.

With a relatively small population, it’s surprising how challenging it has become for young people to buy a house. I’m certain that inflation has played a significant role in this, and I bet you’ve felt its effects in your town as well. From the cost of groceries to the price of petrol ⛽, it seems like everything keeps going up..

It might seem like there’s no end to the challenges, but then I turn to the Bible and God’s promises. When I hold onto His word and let my heavenly Father reshape my perspective, everything starts to look good and beautiful.

There is a beauty, even in the pain and sorrow.

Time, the journey, the stories, the memories—everything is in God’s hands. I’d be naive if I thought I could take full control of my life, so I’ve decided to let God steer the ship, to let Him be the captain of this sometimes broken boat.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize

When I reflect on the past, it’s clear that God was there, defining my journey. He brought me this far, reshaped my story for the better, molded my character, and granted me patience. He was the true source of my existence, while everyone else played their roles as supporting actors.

I’m sure you can relate to what I’m saying. It’s those moments when we forget that we’re all human, here one day and gone the next, that we tend to love more and realise how much we need each other. It’s a pity, not everyone grasps that. Just think about where you are right now, your town, your city. How many people around you need God? Even among the people we love and care about, the need for God’s presence is often overlooked.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬
