In the local church of northern Iran, we used to sing a beautiful Persian song a long time ago. The song emphasises the goodness of trusting in Jesus as our guide and source of hope. “ I trust in Jesus and I taste his promises.” Trusting in Jesus is a vital part of our faith, although all earth shaking around , we trust in the who can create everything out of nothing. Our ultimate trust in Jesus is giving us everything we need in our life. This assurance also have been given us in the bible from book of proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6 : “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.“
It’s a miraculous occurrence. At the moment you are reading this devotion. A path has been made available to you, and now you have a knowledge of Jesus. In order to renew our devotion to Jesus, we must rediscover the motivation that originated from our genuine belief in Him, not merely based on external factors but rooted in the profound encounter we had with His love and presence. The Bible teaches us that our understanding is limited, and our knowledge is finite. Our human thinking cannot comprehend everything, and we are constantly in awe of the magnificent creation around us.
In the late 1800s, Charles T. Studd, a famous English cricketer, gave up his wealth and career to become a missionary, trusting fully in Jesus to provide for him. He even gave away his entire inheritance, believing that following Christ was worth any sacrifice. Studd’s faith took him to China, India, and Africa, where he served despite great challenges. His life is a powerful example of trusting Jesus completely, summed up in his famous words: “If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.”
What can we place our trust in Jesus for today? Is it our financial situation? Is it related to our well-being? It is important to understand that the first and most important step we can take is to trust in Him, just as Studd and countless other men and women have done for centuries. I firmly believe that placing our trust in Jesus has the power to transform us and bring positive change to our world.
Let’s pray.
Lord Jesus, I trust in you today no matter what i will face. I trust in you for my tomorrows and laying down my worries and concerns to you. I thank you and honour you in everything. Amen
