Inhale Faith, Exhale Fear

We are not immune to anything; I hope you know this by now! Nothing in life stays the same forever under the sky. We are here today, but we may not be here tomorrow. We are tied to the cycle of breathing; our lives depend on the steady rhythm of inhaling and exhaling. Who can deny that? We cannot escape it. We either stand and face it or, like some, encounter it without realising that life is short and often brutal.

Life changes in both the sweetest moments and the worst times. Challenges never leave us, not even for a second. But we are not hopeless, nor are we confused like so many others in the world who do not understand the purpose of life. We are not forgotten. The covenant is renewed, and a promise has been offered to us. Some take it seriously, others refuse to hear it, and some ignore it entirely. Yet our souls know the truth and crave it desperately. Our thirsty souls cannot comprehend this life on earth without connection to something greater. We must anchor ourselves in our Creator.

Prophet Moses reminds us in Deuteronomy 4:31:
“For the LORD your God is a merciful God; He will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which He confirmed to them by oath.”

Our Creator is merciful. Each breath we take is counted by His heavenly clock, and only He knows the time when we will be called into His presence. His covenants are true and continually renew our weary souls. So, if life has been harsh to you and your family, remember that your Creator has not abandoned you and never will. Your healing comes from drawing near to Him. Your weakness becomes a point of strength. Your toughest challenges are opportunities to rise, shake off the past, and begin again.

Cry if you must. Fly if you can. But never, ever give up, because the Lord loves you unconditionally.

And you know this even more at this time of year, as Jesus, the hope of humanity, was born.

A beautiful voice speaks: “I am the LORD your God.” This is the voice of heaven, the God of the universe and all that exists. The Lord, who is the great I AM, made everything from nothing. Though we may not be immune to the hardships of life, we are safe and secure when He is our Lord and God. Our short lives have meaning because He lives in us, and we live in Him.
