Hi dear friends and followers,

It’s taken me a little while to sit down and write a post—there were a few reasons for that. We’re right in the middle of winter here, and I came down with a nasty cold that stuck around for nearly two weeks. I’m still on the mend, and to be honest, I had to slow down and get a bit of rest. Like a Fagus tree in winter, I slipped into survival mode—saving my energy for the warmer days ahead, when the leaves can grow evergreen once again.

Lately, I’ve felt a new season stirring in my life—a shift towards deeper self-improvement and personal growth. I’ve read a couple of books recently and just left a quick review on The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell. You can have a squiz at it now on Goodreads if you like.

I’m learning to reflect more intentionally on the values and character traits I want to build, looking back on each chapter of my life like stepping stones. My goal is to grow, to be a bit kinder, and to keep walking towards the man God’s called me to be. All my flaws and stumbles—well, I see them now as rungs on the ladder of growth. I’m taking this journey seriously, no turning back.

Even when I take a step backwards to learn something, I try to take two steps forward—with a deep reverence for God in my heart. I want to be a good good friend, a man after God’s heart, a kind neighbour, and a faithful mate—expecting nothing in return, but always ready to lend a hand to someone doing it tough and lift them up in Jesus’ name.

I know God is good—and He’s done good to me. I’m still here, taking each step stronger than before. The same God who’s led me this far is my anchor, my story, and my firm foundation. I wish I had heaps of time to share testimony after testimony. But I hope that as you read my blogs—bit by bit—you’ve come to realise: there is a God, mate, and He can carry you through every season of life.

Maybe you’re reading this and wondering, Who is God? I get it—technology’s taken over so much of life these days, with everything run by machines and gadgets. But don’t forget—your soul depends on Him. Your life’s so precious that He’ll never leave you on your own. Your feelings and emotions aren’t based on some formula or code—they’re made of heaven. You’re His beloved son or daughter, and Christ gave His life for you.

God loves you—unconditionally. And that love? No machine in this world could ever come close to explaining it.

This new era we’re stepping into—it’ll be stronger with God. “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
Let that truth sink deep: With God, all things are possible; with machines, they’re not.

As winter rolls on here in Australia, I reckon some of you are soaking up summer where you are. Wild, isn’t it—how our world spins?

2 Corinthians 4:16–17 puts it beautifully:

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”

The Bible talks about two appearances—outward and inward.

We may not have much say over either, but we do have a choice to shape what’s inside—to be renewed day by day, with the mind of Christ. On the path of growth, there’s confession, learning, falling, getting back up, and fresh perspective.

I love what Tony Evans once said:

“God will meet you where you are in order to take you where He wants you to go.”

So let’s take a bold step of faith with Jesus and go after the best He’s got for us. He’s with us. He never leaves us. There’s no one like Jesus—He’ll walk with us into this next chapter.
