I am excited to share with you a list of ten Christian bookshops, each of which is wonderful to explore and ready to take your orders, whether online or in person. Please note that this list reflects a Sydney-based perspective. If you’re from Melbourne, Queensland, or other areas, your local Christian bookstores might differ, as I’m not familiar with all of them. However, rest assured that this list will satisfy your craving for both new and classic titles.
I’ve personally ordered from a few of these stores and will provide updates as I try the others that I haven’t yet. Without further ado, here we go:
- Word Bookstore
Although they no longer have a store in Sydney (they used to), Word Bookstore is my top choice for buying Christian books. here is their website to visit : Christian Bookstore & Products | WORD Bookstore - Amazon.com.au
A well known bookshop, however t his is another go-to option for me, especially as a Prime member, as it saves me both money and time. Most items arrive within one day, which is perfect when I’m eager to get a book quickly. Here their website to visit: Amazon.com.au - Koorong – Koorong: New and Bestselling Bibles, Christian Books, Media, Gifts and More
As Australia’s largest Christian book retailer, Koorong offers an extensive range of Christian books, Bibles, and other media. They have stores in all major states across Australia. I’ve visited their bookstores in person, and it’s always a great experience. You won’t be disappointed by a visit. I’ve ordered both in person and online and will continue to do so as needed. - Reformers Bookshop, another good one based in Sydney. This one has a history started in 1983 here is thier website to visit : Christian Books Australia | Bible Store | Reformers Bookshop
- The Wandering Bookseller, They are based in Katoomba, New South Wales, and have a strong presence at various conferences and festivals, here is thier website to visit : The Wandering Bookseller
- Another good one I can refer you to is Matthias Media—your partner in making disciples—matthiasmedia.com.au, which has locations in both Australia and the USA. The prices seem to be similar to those at Word Bookshop, but as I compare the two, it appears that it all depends on which book you are buying. If you shop around, you might find a better price. Their online website is clear and well-organised, providing an overview of everything you need to know before purchasing a book. Some books also have samples available to read. - Booktopia , I know this is not a Christian bookshop, but they are well sourced and trusted bookshop that you can buy your book easily. I have ordered from them several times and well pleased with their service and efficiency. Christianity Books | Non-fiction Religion Books | Booktopia
There are many more that are operating faithfully. If you know of a good one in Australia, let me know so I can add it to the list above.
