You Are Awesome

The beauty of summer is hitting Sydney.

Unusually, the first and second days of summer have been chilly and a bit cold. Summer is kind to us, as always, and I’m grateful to have blue skies over our heads. I still can’t believe how Australia changes with each season, in its culture, its environment, and even its people.

Summer brings a quiet peace with her. When you lie down and rest under the sun, she keeps her promise. The glory of God shines again and again. I pause, stay, and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

I humble myself and place God’s love over my heart for this summer.

The streets seem to shout, “How good is our God!”

The paths and trees point the way before us. But where are the eyes to see, and where are the ears to hear? Can we hold onto His beauty throughout this season? I surrender my season to God and receive His unmatched mercy and loving hand. His protection surrounds me and saves me from my enemies.

In this holy season, when Jesus has been given to us, how can we remember Him? Our celebrations are for the One who brings Joy to all humanity. With Christmas just around the corner, how can we be a light for someone? Whom can we reach, just as Jesus — the Son of God — came to reach us? Let them know they are not alone.

God is here with us!

The Creator of our souls, the Giver of life to these mortal bodies, is here.

Summer, which is winter in other parts of the world; is a season of sacrifice and love from our God. Whether in the heat of the day or the coldest hour of night, God is sovereign over all. The earth is made to rejoice before the King of Kings, the One in whom we can trust.

The Spirit of God is with us.

“ The Lord is your keeper;

The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,

Nor the moon by night.”

Psalms 121:5-6
