I recall the story of the sick woman who was healed by Jesus. She had been suffering for twelve years, had seen every doctor, and spent all her money trying to get well, but her healing came from just one touch of Jesus’ garment. Her faith was shaped by desperation—she had tried everything. Sometimes, healing is a process, a journey that strengthens and transforms us from the inside out.
We all experience illness at some point, some less severe, some more. But our attitude toward it matters, and sickness will not hold us captive forever when we belong to Christ. We are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth, where suffering will end, and there will be no pain, no tears, and no sin—a place where we will dwell in God’s love forever.
Then, we will truly know that He is our healer and our source of love. Jesus is here with us, aware of what we are going through, even in our most painful moments. It can be, Our sickness can be a vessle of to glory of His Name. Jesus promised to us would be with us till end of the earth. He is aware of our physical and spiritual wellbeing. We may sometime need to seek Jesus desperately for a long and weary sickness. We know that, He healed us already when He died on the Cross for us. He healed us of darkness and death of sin that we can live with Him.
Let’s shift our eyes to Jesus, focus on Him, and pour out our hearts. Today’s sickness will not separate us from His love. We sit at His feet, right here in this quiet moment, and lay down all our sickness and shame. And we rise with Him. We are victorious. We are loved.
Let’s pray:
Lord God, heal us from all diseases and pain according to Your will. Please give us strength to face life’s challenges with grace. Heal our souls, heal our bodies. Cleanse us and make us pure. You are our Healer, Yahweh-Rapha. Right now, Lord, I quiet my soul and receive Your healing, Jesus. You are worthy; we praise You and give You all the glory. Thank You for healing, and thank You for Your love. Now I am free.
Mark 5:25-34 (NIV):
And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”
But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Revelation 21:4 (NIV):
“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
