Every time I open the Bible, I receive something new. The following verse stood out to me:
“I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!” Psalms 119:32
Enlarge my heart to embrace a greater love, deepen my understanding of who He is, and allow me to live in the joy and freedom of His presence.
Oh Holy Spirit, when I behold Your beauty, I am suddenly overcome with awe and wonder, thinking of how great and awesome You are. Everywhere I go, I see Your handiwork. Even in the desert, I find a little flower of hope, gently blinking at me, whispering of Your love.
Who am I not to worship You? If I stay silent, even the stones will cry out in praise of Your name. Take away my foolishness, take away my pride, and help me serve You with the humblest of hearts. Wash away my wrongdoings, and transform this selfish person into a light in the darkness for You. Let me put aside my own desires and wholeheartedly pursue the true calling You have placed on my heart.
You’ve allowed me to reflect Your beautiful voice to others—through my actions, my character, and my very being.
Who am I, Lord, that You wipe away my tears? Who am I that You sit beside me and watch the sunset with me?
Heaven and earth rejoice at the birth of a new dream! Before I even existed, You cared for me, like a mother lovingly cradling her child—and so much more. You poured out Your unconditional love for me, a love so vast I cannot fully comprehend it. Yet, perhaps in small glimpses, I can begin to grasp the depth of Your love.
Here I stand, witnessing Your presence. But where are the ears to hear and the eyes to see? Did You not send me here? Wasn’t Your hand evident in my life all along? Didn’t You rescue me in my times of need? You helped me when I couldn’t help myself.
You make everything simple. There is a beauty in your simplicity.
Would You take my complicated life and make it Yours? I have received power from You, and I remember with gratitude all You have done. No, I do not believe You have ever left me—I know You are always with me, even when I don’t feel it.
When I am weak and unable to find my way, You lead me to green pastures. How fortunate I am to have You as my shield! I hold on to Your Word, and it is more than enough for me.
Yes it is.
Indeed.
